Hi Jason, welcome to WOBM! I think LinkedIn and Facebook can bring a lot to those who know how to make them work for them. If you just login once a day, just to see what’s new, I doubt you can get that much out of it. Still, sometimes it does come with great results!

Alina, thanks for the plug We are just wrapping up “I’m on Facebook — Now What???” This is the last one for me this year… writing is too intense

Regarding Ryan’s comment, I have declared that I’m “social networked out” a long time ago. I get requests every day to join various networks. I find immense value in some Yahoo Groups and Twitter because of the immediate communication ability. LinkedIn and Facebook provide value, but I wouldn’t say it’s “immense.” There are some who get immense value there, but they use it more effectively than I do.

Hi Ryan! There are sites I stubled upon, such as StumbleUpon and LinkedIn, liked and then continued to efficiently use. Some, same as in your case, were soon forgotten and yeah, I kind of ignore most invites to join

First time I found hi5, I thought “wow, great!”. But then I stumbled upon (alphabetical order) Badoo, Bebo, Catster, Dogster, Facebook, Faceparty, Flickr, Flixster, Hyves, Imbee, Imeem, Konnects, LinkedIn, MySpace, Mixi, Pizco, Pownce, Ringo, Takkle, Twitter, Virb, Vox, Xanga, Xing, Yahoo 360, Zoomr… I guess you understand what I’m trying to say here Friends already think I have something against them as I now just reject invitations to such sites.
