Hi Julius and Iuliana! I have to agree, there always needs to be a reason to connect and mutual benefits are important. I did connect with people I did not know, but we shared common interests: were in the same groups, worked in similar fields etc. Just connecting with someone for the fun of it might work, but it won’t bring you much.

I agree that you really need to invite people for a reason. Although, numbers on Linkedin count.

Don’t get me wrong I prefer quality over quantity, but I got my job through Linkedin and having lots of different contact helped in spreading the word that I was actually looking for one.
